Candlewood Valley Health, Rehabilitation Center: Senior Citizens Day winner in New Milford
Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation and the Italia Mia Restaurant in New Milford recently collaborated to celebrate Senior Citizens Day with a special Tomato Sauce Recipe Program.
Community senior citizens were invited to submit their tomato sauce recipes in exchange for being included in a raffle to win six home-delivered meals from Italia Mia.
“Since cooking is a multi-generational activity laden with tradition we thought it would be an appropriate theme for a Senior Citizen Day program. Recipes are often handed down from one generation to another and that’s where this contest was born,” said Sarah Johnson, the community liaison for Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation.
